Erica graduated from Southern Illinois University in 2003 where she received her B.S. in Dental Hygiene. She enjoys getting to know each of her patients personally. She provides individualized care for everyone she treats. Erica is committed to continuing her education. She attends multiple seminars each year to stay up to date with the newest dental technology and treatment options for her patients. Not only does she clean your teeth, she will also monitor the health of your gums and mouth.
Having a clean mouth is important for your overall hygeine. Erica will take the time to talk with you about any concerns or questions you might have about your oral care. She will welcome you with her gentle and caring demeanor and help to ensure you are comfortable during your appointment. Erica enjoys working with patients of all ages. She is experienced with patients ages 1-101.
Erica lives within our community with her family. Outside of work, Erica spends a lot of time at the hockey rink with her son. She roots the team on! She also attends gymnastics classes with her daughter. She and her husband enjoy monthly family board game nights with friends and family. Mostly, Erica enjoys to spend time with their children.
Gina graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where she received a B.A. in History, minor in Spanish, and Area Certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. She worked in management for multiple retail establishments training retail staff and Assistant Managers for over 7 years. During this time, she volunteered at the Field Museum in Chicago in the Botany Department as a translator. She worked with a Botanist researching multi-lingual books for different species of Ferns.
There she discovered her continued interest in the Science field and decided to return to college and become a Dental Hygienist. She graduated from Indiana University-Northwest School of Dental Hygiene in 1998. She has continued to advance her education in the Dental Field through attending Dental Hygiene Conferences throughout the country and Continuing Educational Courses. She has been a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association since she was a student. Gina is also the Past-President of both the Illinois Dental Hygiene Association and the North Suburban Dental Hygiene Society.
She has been an active volunteer throughout her life and career. She has taught English as a Second Language, tutored children in History, volunteers as a Girl Scout leader, and continually teaches adults and children at numerous schools about Dental Education. She believes that it doesn't matter how young or old you are, dental education is important for everyone.
Leanne has been helping patients obtain their perfect smiles and healthy mouths as a dental assistant for over 5 years. She works closely with the doctors to help your procedure run smoothly. She is our top notch x-ray technician. She excels at capturing the images of your teeth for you to review with the doctor.
Leanne is gentle working with patients of all ages. She enjoys getting to know her patients and learning what makes them more comfortable during their procedure. She will help ease your anxieties of dental treatment and take the time to explain the procedure and address any questions or concerns you have. She will ensure you are completely comfortable and ready to see the doctor. Leanne has been with Cedar Lake Dental since they first opened and enjoys the calming atmosphere of the office and being a part of a team that genuinely cares about their patients health and comfort.
When Leanne is not in the office she enjoys reading and painting. One of her favorite things to do is to go on mini adventures with her daughter.
Marisela has enjoyed dental assisting for the past year. She decided to explore other avenues after 9 years of therapy assisting. That decision led her to Dr. Jeff Copeland's dental office. After learning how to master dental assisting from him, she joined our team here at Cedar Lake Dental. She now has the pleasure of working with both Dr. Jeff and Dr. Maureen Copeland! Marisela enjoys interacting and meeting new patients of all ages. She will take the time to sit with you and explain the procedure, answering any questions that you have. She will go out of her way to ensure you are comfortable while in the dental chair. She genuinely cares about healthy smiles and gentle treatment.
When Marisela is not in the office she likes outdoor activities. She participates in 5K events and loves to travel. She is also our only bilingual assistant, speaking Spanish and English fluently.
