Invisalign Clear Aligners

Are you unhappy with crooked or misaligned teeth but want an alternative to traditional metal braces? Invisalign clear aligners provide an ideal solution because you can straighten your teeth discreetly, comfortably, and efficiently.

At Cedar Lake Dental, Dr. Maureen Copeland offers clear aligner therapy to treat bite problems and alignment issues and give you the straight smile you’ve always wanted.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign involves a series of custom-made, clear aligners that are barely noticeable when you smile and are perfect for mild to moderate orthodontic issues. Dr. Copeland customizes your treatment plan and designs each set of aligners to gradually correct your bite and shift your teeth into their ideal positions.

If she finds you have more complex malocclusion or severely rotated teeth, she may recommend traditional braces as the ideal solution for your needs.

What Are Invisalign’s Benefits?

Clear aligners offer several benefits that make them a popular choice for those seeking orthodontic treatment:

  • Discreet and comfortable — Invisalign aligners are virtually unnoticeable with a smooth surface, providing a discreet and comfortable treatment experience
  • Convenient — You can enjoy your favorite foods and maintain oral hygiene by removing your aligners.
  • Improved oral health — Straighter teeth are easier to clean, reducing your risk of cavities and gum disease. Correcting your bite can also help you avoid TMJ pain and problems.
  • Enhanced confidence — Knowing your teeth are straight boosts your confidence and allows you to smile openly.

What Problems Do Clear Aligners Correct?

Clear aligners correct various alignment issues, including:

  • Overcrowding
  • Uneven spacing
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Open bite

How Does Invisalign Treatment Work?

The Invisalign treatment process starts with an initial consultation with Dr. Copeland at our dental office in Round Lake. She creates a precise treatment plan using leading-edge technology and can even give you a digital preview of your new smile!

When you receive your aligners, you must wear each set for 22 hours daily for 1–2 weeks. Remove them only for eating, brushing, and flossing, and remember that the more compliant you are with this schedule, the sooner you will complete treatment.

Regular check-ins with Dr. Copeland will ensure your treatment is progressing as planned. Treatment times vary based on orthodontic needs but typically range from 12 to 18 months.

The good news is that as you progress through treatment, you’ll notice subtle improvements that show you’re getting closer to your dream smile every day!

Invisalign Clear Aligners Technology

Digital Impressions

Digital impressions eliminate the need for traditional messy impression materials that many patients find uncomfortable and gag-inducing. We use this technology at Cedar Lake Dental to capture a highly accurate, 3-D digital model of your teeth and gums.

To take a digital impression, we use a small, handheld device to scan your mouth. The result is a detailed and precise 3-D model of your entire dental structure. We can easily manipulate and view the image from different angles to create treatment plans, fit dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, or veneers, and plan orthodontic treatments.

Taking a digital impression is fast, comfortable, and highly accurate, resulting in a streamlined dental visit and improved treatment outcomes. Also, viewing the virtual model of your dental structure helps you better understand your oral health and proposed treatment plans.
