When you step into our treatment rooms, it won't take long to realize that this isn't your typical dental office. Many of our patients are surprised to see how far dental technology has come, and that's something we take pride in.
We're constantly staying ahead of the curve, researching and investing in state-of-the-art technology that not only looks impressive but has solid research to back its effectiveness. With a commitment to innovation and keeping up with advancements at Cedar Lake Dental, we can provide you with exceptional, personalized dental care.

3-D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)
3-D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a high-tech imaging tool that provides a three-dimensional view of your teeth, bone structure, and soft tissues. Cone beam scans give Dr. Copeland a comprehensive and detailed perspective, unlike regular 2-D x-rays, to enhance accuracy and treatment planning.
Cedar Lake Dental uses cone beam technology to plan various procedures, including dental implants, root canals, and orthodontic treatment. The 3-D view allows Dr. Copeland to determine the precise location of bone structure and tooth orientation needed to plan these treatments.
The process for taking cone beam scans is quick and comfortable, which improves your overall experience. With CBCT technology, Dr. Copeland ensures that your dental treatment is based on the most accurate and comprehensive information available.

Digital Impressions
Digital impressions eliminate the need for traditional messy impression materials that many patients find uncomfortable and gag-inducing. We use this technology at Cedar Lake Dental to capture a highly accurate, 3-D digital model of your teeth and gums.
To take a digital impression, we use a small, handheld device to scan your mouth. The result is a detailed and precise 3-D model of your entire dental structure. We can easily manipulate and view the image from different angles to create treatment plans, fit dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, or veneers, and plan orthodontic treatments.
Taking a digital impression is fast, comfortable, and highly accurate, resulting in a streamlined dental visit and improved treatment outcomes. Also, viewing the virtual model of your dental structure helps you better understand your oral health and proposed treatment plans.

Digital X-Rays & Sensors
Digital x-rays combined with digital sensors offer a modern approach to dental diagnostics. This innovative technology provides a comprehensive and detailed view of your oral health and allows us to observe tooth roots, bone health, hidden decay, and even cysts.
At Cedar Lake Dental, we use the Nomad™ handheld dental x-ray system and digital sensors. This state-of-the-art combination ensures precision, flexibility, and minimal radiation exposure to enhance your safety and comfort.
By enabling early identification of potential issues and precise treatment planning, digital x-rays and sensors help Dr. Copeland deliver superior dental care so you can maintain a healthy, radiant smile.

Intraoral Cameras
The intraoral camera is an amazing diagnostic tool for viewing different angles in the mouth that we would not have been able to just a few years ago. The camera allows us to view the entire mouth on a monitor to get a closer look at any potential issues or problems that may develop. An intraoral camera is also a great educational tool because you can see the images we see in real-time. Because they are digital, we can save the images to your patient record and share them with insurance companies as needed.

Laser Teeth Whitening
Laser teeth whitening is a fast and efficient way to significantly brighten your smile. We carefully protect your gums, apply a special whitening gel on your teeth, and use the Zoom! LED light to activate it. The special light penetrates the enamel and breaks down stains and discolorations for a whiter smile in just one visit to Cedar Lake Dental.
There are several benefits to this method of whitening. First, it's quick. It can take weeks to see results when you whiten at home. With Zoom! whitening, you’ll see a dramatic brightening of up to eight shades in about an hour. It’s also a safe procedure because Dr. Copeland or one of our skilled hygienists oversees the process to lower your risk of tooth sensitivity.

Panoramic X-Rays
Unlike a traditional dental x-ray that captures a small section of your mouth, a panoramic x-ray provides a wide view of your entire mouth. The image shows all your teeth, upper and lower jawbones, sinuses, and temporomandibular joints.
With panoramic x-rays, Dr. Copeland identifies issues such as impacted wisdom teeth, jawbone abnormalities, cysts, tumors, and sinus problems. This type of x-ray also plays a role in planning orthodontic treatment, dental implants, and denture fabrication.
Taking a panoramic x-ray is quick and comfortable with low radiation exposure. The machine moves around your head in a semi-circle to capture an in-depth image of your mouth in seconds.

Rotary Endodontics
Rotary endodontics make root canal treatment more efficient and comfortable than ever before. This advanced technology uses an electric handpiece with a specially designed nickel-titanium tip. This material is significantly more flexible than the traditional stainless steel files. The electric handpiece rotates the tip in a constant, controlled motion, enabling Dr. Copeland to clean and shape the root canals more quickly and accurately than traditional manual methods.

TVs in Treatment Rooms
We believe your visits to Cedar Lake Dental should be as comfortable and stress-free as possible. That's why we've gone above and beyond to create an environment that's welcoming and relaxing. To this end, we've equipped our treatment rooms with televisions for your entertainment during procedures. Whether you want to catch up on your favorite show or simply be distracted from the dental work, our in-room TVs provide a pleasant escape.

VibraJect Injection Comfort System
The VibraJect Injection Comfort System is a remarkable tool that can transform your experience of dental injections. Often, it's not the needle that causes discomfort but the sensation of administering the anesthetic.
The Vibraject system cleverly addresses this by using vibration to confuse sensory signals sent to the brain. When we feel two sensations simultaneously, the brain tends to pay more attention to the one that's vibrating. In this case, the vibration sensation reaches the brain first, essentially distracting it from the sensation of the needle!
The result is a significant reduction in discomfort during injections. Many patients report not feeling the needle, describing the sensation as more of a buzz than a sting. This makes dental treatments more comfortable and helps relieve anxiety for those with a fear of needles.
